None of these things is especially complicated on its own. The difficulty is that family life arrives in fragments — and the responsibility for joining those fragments together often sits quietly with one person.
Homefold begins there.
It is a small shift in where the work begins. Instead of asking a busy person to translate every fragment into the right system, Homefold gives the household one place to start. The original material still matters; the App simply helps turn it into something easier to understand and act on.
A place to send what needs sorting
Homefold is an iOS app designed to help organise the information that keeps everyday life moving. You can bring in a notice, screenshot, PDF, message, image, file, or voice note without first deciding which folder, calendar, or list it belongs in.
Homefold uses AI to help identify the useful parts: the date of an excursion, the time of an appointment, what needs to be packed, who needs to respond, and what should happen next. You remain in control of the result and can review what was found before relying on it.
The aim is not to create more administration. It is to turn something you have already received into a clearer piece of family context.
Imagine a swimming notice for the new school term. It may contain several lesson dates, a change of venue, equipment to bring, and a form due next Friday. Homefold can help surface those details as upcoming events or tasks while keeping the original notice close by for reference. Instead of searching the family chat again, the plan and its source can stay together.
From information to what happens next
The Home screen gives you a calm view of what is coming up, with the nearest events and tasks visible first. From there, Homefold opens into a few focused spaces rather than a maze of features.
Chat is the conversational entry point. It gives you a natural way to add context through text, images, files, or voice and to review what Homefold has organised.
Events brings the household timeline and calendar together, so an appointment, reminder, or task can be understood in relation to the rest of the week.
Library keeps documents and original files available for search and later reference. A useful date should not require losing the notice it came from.
These parts are connected by a simple idea: information becomes more useful when the source, the meaning, and the next action remain in the same household context.
Private first, shared when useful
Not everything about life at home should automatically be visible to everyone else.
Homefold distinguishes between personal information and material shared with a Home. Something can remain visible only to you, or it can be shared with household members when coordination is genuinely useful. That choice can be made when content is saved and changed later as circumstances change.
This matters because a household is not a single undifferentiated inbox. It contains private plans, shared responsibilities, children’s schedules, care information, documents, and activities that reach beyond the front door. Clear visibility is part of keeping that information respectful as well as organised.
Homefold also does not require one conventional picture of family life. A person can begin privately, organise a Solo Home, coordinate with a partner, or bring a family and its caregiving responsibilities into one shared space. Public Events provide a separate way to organise activities with invited people outside the household.
Built for the reality between the reminders
There are already excellent calendar apps, task managers, cloud drives, school portals, and messaging tools. Homefold is not trying to pretend they do not exist.
The gap appears between them: when a message needs to become a task, a PDF contains three dates, a file needs to remain attached to the decision it informed, or one family member needs a clear answer without asking another person to reconstruct the whole story.
Homefold is being built as an organising layer for that gap — a quieter place for the information, plans, and source material that belong to life together.
